Paprika adds a lovely flavour to this Paprika Beef dish alongside the rich tomato sauce. Combining both sweet and smoked paprika for that ultimate flavour. Smoked paprika can come in varying heats, so be careful of the one you use if you don't like your food spicy.

Paprika Beef (Slow Cooker and Instant Pot)
Slow Cooker Paprika Beef - tender chunks of beef in a rich smokey paprika tomato sauce with chunks of butternut squash.
Ingredients
- 800g of lean stewing beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic crushed
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 350g of butternut squash, cubed
- 1 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
- 4 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons of sweet paprika
- 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
- ½ cup (120ml) of beef stock
- 1 tablespoons of brown sugar
- salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Slow Cooker:
- Add all the ingredients to a slow cooker and mix well to combine.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-6 hours
- Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve with your choice of sides
Instant Pot:
- Add all the ingredients to the instant pot and stir to combine.
- Add the lid and close valve (if not self-sealing), set to manual high pressure for 20 mins, let pressure release naturally for 10 minutes and then release any remaining pressure.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed
- Serve with your choice of sides.
