Heavenly Tender Hoisin Chicken - a quick simple dish that is ready in less than 20 minutes and can be cooked in an Actifry or on the Stove Top.
I love Hoisin Sauce, Hoisin sauce can be pretty strong in flavour, so a great way to make the sauce go that little bit further while still keeping the cals low is to mix some with some passata or crushed tomatoes, a little garlic and some water.
You still get that lovely hoisin taste and the chicken is super tender and delicious, because you literally just brown the chicken in the pan, remove, add the sauce, simmer till thickened and back goes in the chicken until cooked.
Perfect served with just some plain rice or noodles and vegetables. Or if you prefer to create more of a fakeaway style dish, then try this with my AMAZING Egg Fried Rice.
If you own a Tefal Actifry, you will be pleased to know you this Hoisin Chicken can be cooked in that as well as Stove Top. The added bonus of course about the Actifry is that you don't need to rotate the chicken to get an even browning, the actifry does it all for you.
The Actifry is a great option for foods that you would usually be deep fried. Perfect Chips and I love cooking my sausages for breakfast in mine too, it means they get a nice even colour.
We have the Tefal Actifry 1.7kg family size, because being a family of 4, we need that extra capacity.

Highly recommend trying this recipe, it is delicious

Bloody lovely!! Does not taste 'diet ' at all. I recommend letting the sauce cook down to make it coat chicken better. You can do this with chicken back in sauce. It doesn't make chicken dry.

Think this is my no.1 recipe using chicken thighs! Thanks! So so tasty, had it with wild basmati rice, leftover veg. Another time, will cook some halved mishrooms when browning this chicken and have with the basmati. Very quick to cook too.

When using actifry do you leave paddle in ...if ypu take it out does the sauce get through the hole ...please..i havnt used it only for chips .
Thankyou lynda
Siobhan (Slimming Eats) says
yes leave the paddle in as it will rotate the chicken for even cooking, the sauce will be pushed over the top of the paddle as it cooks.
